What is a Verruca?

Verruca are warts caused by a virus that invades the skin through minuscule cuts and scrapes. The lesions are generally harmless and will often self-resolve if left alone. However, if they form on a weightbearing area they can become extremely painful.

VERRUCA TREATMENTS

Verruca can be treated using over the counter products. However, if you’ve tried and failed with home-based treatments one of our expert podiatrists can discuss alternate options with you or simply help to make your verruca lesion more comfortable by gently removing the overlying callus.

PREPARING FOR YOUR VISIT

If your appointment type includes any assessment or treatment of the nails then please ensure they are free from polish, gel and acrylic products. We do not offer a nail product removal service and will not treat or assess nails that are covered with aesthetic nail products.

PLEASE NOTE

You will be required to book in for an initial/new patient podiatry assessment prior to being offered any verruca treatment. Verruca treatments are not performed at the first appointment, and the initial/new patient appointment fee does not include any of our specialised verruca treatments. The purpose of this visit is to assess suitability, discuss the process and procedure in detail, and explain associated fees.
