Nail Surgery & Ingrowing Nails

If you feel like your nail is digging into the side of your toe and shoes have become uncomfortable to wear, you may have an ingrowing nail.

Ingrowing toenails can be extremely painful when left untreated. They also have the potential to become infected, often requiring multiple courses of antibiotics. Following an initial assessment, one of Foot Centric’s podiatrists will be able to advise you whether part or all of the nail can be removed under a local anaesthetic. Once the troublesome nail has been eradicated a chemical called phenol, which registered podiatrists are licensed to use, can be administered to the area to prevent regrowth.

PREPARING FOR YOUR VISIT

We ask all first-time visitors to Foot Centric to book this appointment type. Please bring a list of any medications you are taking as well as the details of your GP practice.

If your appointment type includes any assessment or treatment of the nails then please ensure they are free from polish, gel and acrylic products. We do not offer a nail product removal service and will not treat or assess nails that are covered with aesthetic nail products.
